Launching a Digital Academy for AI Education

This study case details my work for an initiative I co-founded at the beginning of 2024. It is a nonprofit digital academy focused on AI education.

Our short-term goals are to secure funding and build a community of engaged learners and partners. For the latter, we are currently focused on establishing a robust online presence by producing quality written and audiovisual content delivered through our newsletter and podcast. Additionally, we are focused on establishing a solid presence on LinkedIn since it is a platform where professionals want to expand their knowledge.

My Key Contributions Include:

  • Led market research and developed a strategic business plan to guide the organization’s mission and growth
  • Crafted a detailed two-year financial plan to ensure sustainable operations and maximize impact
  • Launched and managed our community newsletter, achieving a consistent 40%+ open rate
  • Designed Go-to-market strategy for B2C and B2B, and defined a modular, accessible, and flexible pricing strategy
  • Prepared the pitch deck for potential partners and donors

Newsletter Management

I am responsible for managing the newsletter’s operations, and my scope includes:

  • Set up an efficient workflow for delivering weekly editions ✅
  • Prepared the content strategy which includes roundups of AI news, exclusive interviews conducted by our team, and other educational information ✅
  • Designed the newsletter template optimized for readability and engagement ✅
  • Managing the operations and monitoring the performance to make improvements. The main KPIs are open rates, click-through rates, and subscriber growth – Ongoing 🔃
  • Conducting A/B testing to determine optimal subject lines, content length, call-to-action, content strategy, etc – Ongoing 🔃
  • Building and Maintaining Subscriber Base – Ongoing 🔃

Takeaways

The most critical factor contributing to the success of this project is knowing our audience and listening to them. We have created business processes that allow us to incorporate the feedback of our beachhead market, as we move to develop our product and deliver solutions to close the knowledge gap in Artificial Intelligence.
